ACE Educational Center

American Cinema Editors, Inc. was formed in 1950,”to advance the art, science, prestige and dignity of the film editing profession.”

The ACE Educational Center is a 501C3 non-profit organization. Any contributions toward its support may be taken as charitable tax deductions. It was formed in 1986 and currently supports the following:

ACE’s Internship and Mentorship Programs –  For worthy cinema school graduates and industry professionals. These programs boast a 90% success rate in placing participants in editing positions.

Editing Fellowship and Diversity Programs – These include the Sally MenkeKaren Schmeer and Eric Zumbrunnen  fellowships.

Visiting Editors Program – Provides colleges and universities with short-term professional lecturers at no charge to the institution.

ACE Educational Films – Our three films on the art and craft of editing are “Film Editing: Interpretation and Values”, “Basic Principles of Film Editing” and “The Cutting Edge: The Magic of Editing”. They are reckoned as the standard in film editorial teaching tools.

Student Editing Competition – Film students from around the country have the opportunity to edit a scene from a television show. Three finalists are given complimentary admission to the annual ACE Eddie Awards. where the winner is announced.
