INTERNSHIP APPLICATIONS BEGIN IN MAY (Los Angeles, New York, London)
Internship Program Structure & Details

Each year, the American Cinema Editors Internship Committee selects two interns per city and provides them with the opportunity to shadow editors in feature films, televisions, and unscripted. Interns also visit several facilities integral to post-production (e.g. sound stages, VFX vendors, labs, etc.). Interns are mentored by ACE editors, their assistants, and previous alumni. The ACE Internship Program is geared toward anyone with a passion for editing, who is just starting their career in post-production.

The ACE Internship Program literally changes lives! Its impact and success are apparent in the huge rate of interns that have excelled in their careers to work on top films and shows. Many have even gone on to be Oscar- and Emmy-winning team members.

For example, here are several interns who have skyrocketed after their internships:

OSCAR NOMINATED EDITOR PANEL DISCUSSION – Saturday before the Oscars
Sponsorship Levels & Pricing

Invisible Art, Visible Artist is an annual event presented by ACE during Oscars weekend that spotlights the essential and often unsung craft of film editing. This unique panel brings together the year’s Academy Award-nominated editors for an in-depth and engaging conversation about their work, creative processes, and the collaborative nature of post-production. Held in front of a live audience of 500 people, the event provides a rare opportunity for film lovers, students, and industry professionals to gain firsthand insight into the artistry behind the cut—how editors shape performance, story, rhythm, and emotion.

Moderated by fellow editors and ACE members, the panel offers behind-the-scenes perspectives on the nominated films, revealing the invisible choices that ultimately make the storytelling visible on screen. Celebrating the editor’s role in the filmmaking process, Invisible Art, Visible Artist continues to advocate for greater awareness and appreciation of editing as a vital cinematic discipline.
