The film captures the electrifying moment of The Beatles’ first visit to America. Featuring never-before-seen footage of the band and the legions of young fans who helped fuel their ascendance, the film gives a rare glimpse into when The Beatles became the most influential and beloved band of all time.

On February 7, 1964, The Beatles arrived in New York City to unprecedented excitement and hysteria. From the instant they landed at Kennedy Airport, met by thousands of fans, Beatlemania swept New York and the entire country. Their thrilling debut performance on The Ed Sullivan Show captivated more than 73 million viewers, the most watched television event of its time. Beatles ’64 presents the spectacle, but also tells a more intimate behind the scenes story, capturing the camaraderie of John, Paul, George, and Ringo as they experienced unimaginable fame.

Beatles ’64 is directed by David Tedeschi and produced by Martin Scorsese, Margaret Bodde, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon, Jonathan Clyde, Mikaela Beardsley, with Jeff Jones and Rick Yorn serving as executive producers. • The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power S2 Q&A with Editor Joel Skinner & VFX Supervisor Jason Smith (Zoom Event)

Zoom/Online see event description for link details, CA, United States

Picturehouse 441 and ACE are proud to be partnering on a series of live virtual Q&As as part of our mutual efforts to promote media literacy.
Join us for a Q&A with editor Joel Skinner & VFX supervisor Jason Smith, as they discuss their work on the fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. In Season Two of The Rings of Power, Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Building on Season One’s epic scope and ambition, the new season plunges even its most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity. Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots… as friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good will struggle ever more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all… each other.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth's history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.

The first season of The Rings of Power has been an unprecedented success, viewed by more than 100 million people worldwide, with more than 32 billion minutes streamed. The highly anticipated series attracted more than 25 million global viewers on its first day, marking the biggest premiere in the history of Prime Video, and also debuted as the No. 1 show on Nielsen’s overall streaming chart in its opening weekend. The show has driven more Prime sign-ups worldwide during its launch window than any other previous content to date. The season finale also created a global cultural moment, with multiple series-themed hashtags, including #TheRingsofPower and others, trending in 27 countries across Twitter for over 426 cumulative hours throughout the weekend.

  • Tommy 50th Anniversary Q&A with Actor Ann-Margret (Zoom Event)

Zoom/Online see event description for link details, CA, United States

Picturehouse 441 and ACE are proud to be partnering on a series of live virtual Q&As as part of our mutual efforts to promote media literacy.
Join us for a Q&A with actor Ann-Margret as she discusses her work on the 1975 psychedelic musical fantasy Tommy. Based on The Who's classic rock opera of the same name, this phantasmagoria of sights and sounds from British provocateur Ken Russell is a wild, oddly moving ride, filled to the brim with cameos from the likes of Jack Nicholson, Eric Clapton, Tina Turner, and Elton John, along with The Who themselves. The highlight of this film, though, is Ann-Margret's Oscar-nominated performance. She dives into this material like most actors do with Shakespeare, giving a performance of depth, devotion, and gut-wrenching emotion as the titular character’s mother. Also starring frequent Russell collaborator Oliver Reed and Roger Daltrey himself, with editing by Stuart Baird, ACE, Tommy proved that The Who and Ken Russell were a match made in heaven.
