Is a Public Insurance Adjuster Right for You? Zoom Seminar with Q&A

    Featured January 25, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm PST
Zoom/Online see event description for link details, CA, United States

To the ACE community and beyond who's been affected by the LA wildfires, we've organized a brief zoom presentation and Q&A session with a public insurance adjuster. ACE is in no way affiliated with them, nor are we recommending that you work with this company in-particular, but they graciously offered to hold this information based free event and Q&A in the hopes to arm everyone with as much information as possible.

The Greenspan Co./Adjusters is an independent entity and does not represent any insurance company or general contractor. The role of a public adjuster is to serve as your private Loss Consultant, working on your behalf to calculate your building loss, personal property loss, and additional living expense claim. Their aim is to maximize your claim within a reasonable timeframe, enabling you to make informed decisions about your rebuilding process.

If you're interested, please sign up for the free zoom seminar on Saturday, January 25 for detailed info on what a public adjuster does.

American Cinema Editors Presents Amour followed by a Q&A with Editor Monika Willi (NY Event)

    Featured March 28, 2025 @ 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm PDT
Metrograph 7 Ludlow St, New York, NY

Icons of French cinema Jean-Louis Trintignant and Emmanuelle Riva play an elderly couple facing final separation by cruel death in Haneke’s tender-yet-hard study of life at the precipice. Cinematographer Darius Khondji offers a litany of locked-down framings, brittle in their composed beauty, each marked by an elegant exactitude and slowly suffocating airlessness, while editor Monika Willi’s smooth, sure-handed cutting lends what otherwise might be a stultifyingly static work a feeling of grim, merciless momentum, sliding imperceptibly towards the Great Beyond. Perhaps Haneke’s ultimate directorial accomplishment—and, incidentally, a eulogy for the youthful dreams of the 1960s European art cinema.

Q&A with editor Monika Willi on Friday, March 28th

American Cinema Editors Presents American Gigolo, followed by a Conversation with Editor Richard Halsey, ACE (LA Event)

    Featured April 23, 2025 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm PDT
Vidiots 4884 Eagle Rock Blvd, Los Angeles, CA, United States

The next West Coast "American Cinema Editors Presents" event will be a screening of the 1980 American neo-noir crime drama American Gigolo followed by a conversation with editor Richard Halsey, ACE, at Los Angeles institution Vidiots.

Richard Gere sizzles in Paul Schrader’s sexy thriller of a male escort in over his head after the death of a client. Julian lives the Los Angeles dream through sensual means and he lives it in the epitome of early '80s neon-soaked style. As he seduces women at a price he begins to fall for one, even as he’s suspected of the murder of another. With a sick Giorgio Moroder soundtrack and the art, architecture, and fashion of early '80s LA, this scorcher will leave you thirsty… for more!
