ACE Internship Application Submissions – OPEN

Featured

Each year, the American Cinema Editors Internship Committee selects two interns from each city (Los Angeles, New York, London) and provides them with the opportunity to shadow for one week each the editing rooms of a feature, a television show, and an unscripted show. Interns also visit several facilities integral to post-production (e.g. sound stages, VFX vendors, labs, etc.). Interns are being mentored by ACE editors and previous alumni. The ACE Internship Program is geared toward anyone with a passion for editing, who is just starting their career in post-production.

Tribeca Festival: ACE Editing Masterclass: Barry Alexander Brown, ACE (NY Event)

ATT Story Lounge 50 Varick Street on the 5th Fl

Join ACE at Tribeca for a master class with acclaimed editor Barry Alexander Brown, ACE on Sunday June 15 at 3pm as part of the Storytelling Summit, Spring Studios, 50 Varick Street, 5th floor. Barry Alexander Brown, ACE, has edited most of Spike Lee’s films, from School Daze and Do the Right Thing to Malcolm X and Inside Man to Spike’s latest, Highest 2 Lowest, opening this summer. Barry also cut Mira Nair’s Salaam Bombay! and Alex Keshisian’s Madonna: Truth or Dare documentary. As a director, his films include the upcoming Wish to Live as well as Son of the South and the landmark Vietnam era documentary The War at Home.
Barry will talk about the process from beginning to end on a movie – from watching dailies together and understanding the director's vision of the movie, to the editor's cut, working through the weeks of the director's cut and then finalizing the films with the input of the producers and the studios.

Tickets are available as part of the Storytelling Summit, which brings the filmmaking and creative community together, giving independent storytellers the access and connections they need to propel their projects and careers forward – from exposure to industry veterans to thoughtfully curated sessions.
