ACE Affiliate Membership Requirements

This includes active editors residing within North America (U.S. & Canada) and International editors who are members of an ACE recognized editing organization in their country of residence.

Domestic Affiliate Membership

  1. ACE Affiliate Membership Domestic is for those with some experience in the motion picture and television industries or their allied fields in North America (U.S. & Canada), but who does not yet meet the requirements to apply for an ACE Active Membership.
  2. A letter of recommendation.
  3. The initiation fee is $1500 (with $500 due upon acceptance), The balance is due upon induction. Annual dues are $400. The induction process usually takes about 4 months.
  4. Affiliates shall have no voting rights for officers or members of the Board of Directors.
  5. They are included in Affiliate Membership Directory.
  6. They may be invited to upgrade to full Active Membership
  7. Affiliate Members have all the privileges of an Active Member except the use of the ACE designation.  They may list their affiliation in printed material as “Affiliate Member of ACE”.
  8. Affiliate Members are accorded voting privileges in the final balloting for Eddie Awards.

International Affiliate Membership

  1. International professional requirement includes 72 months of editing for distribution in their home market.
  2. International Affiliates must be members in good standing of their local editing organization.
  3. A letter of recommendation from their local organization’s Board, signed by 2 officers.
  4. Interview with the International Relations Committee via Skype who will make a recommendation to the ACE Board of Directors who will review the application and vote on the admission.
  5. If approved, the applicant shall be accepted to ACE International Affiliate membership. If applicant is refused membership, any payment submitted shall be refunded.
  6. International Affiliates shall pay an initiation fee ($750)and annual dues ($200).
  7. They may not use “ACE” in their on-screen credits but may list their affiliation in printed material as “International Affiliate Member of ACE”.
  8. International Affiliates shall have no voting rights for officers or members of the Board of Directors.
  9. They are included in Affiliate Membership Directory.
  10. They may be invited to upgrade to full Active Membership if their work becomes distributed in the U.S. either as a wide theatrical release or via a form of national television distribution (eg. broadcast, cable or streaming).
