    Join LACPUG (Los Angeles Creative Pro User Group)on Oct 25 for Assistant Editors and AI night. It will be a night of "AE's" in the age of AI and what the future might hold. We will welcome Zack Arnold (ACE) - founder of Optimize Yourself as well as a 20-year veteran editing film & television. Also television assistant editor (and MPEG board member) Ashley McKinney, feature & tv assistant editor (and MPEG board member) Scott Jacobs, as well as VFX editor, assistant editor, and co-founder of Master the Workflow Richard Sanchez.

    We are excited to have editors Maria Gonzales and Aika Miyake join us to talk about their work on the critically acclaimed FX historical drama series SHOGUN. Please note, this will be the last lacpug meet until September, 2024.

    We are back from summer vacation. Join us Wednesday, September 25 for the next lacpug Meet.

    Arguably one of the best TV shows in recent years, Reservation Dogs is about four Native American Teenagers growing up on a reservation in eastern Oklahoma. Editors Varun Viswanath, ACE and Patrick Tuck, (both nominated for an Emmy Award) will join us to talk about their collaberation and process on this most wonderful show. Sven Pape, (AKA This Guy Edits) will moderate.

    Also very excited to have veteran Hollywood Film editor Dan Lebental ACE return to Lacpug after several years. Dan has edited over 37 films, including Iron Man 1 and 2, ELF and the recent post-pandemic films include Beverly Hills Cop - Axel Foley, Bad Boys Ride or Die, Dungeons & Dragons and Mortal Kombat. Yes, there will be time for Q&A.

  • Los Angeles Creative Pro User Group (LACPUG) Meet Up: Deaf Editing, Philip Hodgetts and MrBeast (LA Event)

    The next lacpug meet is Thursday, March 20, back at the Gallery Theatre in Hollywood.

    Join us as we welcome back Philip Hodgetts who will show us the new captionAnimator as well as a quick tour of the text based editor BUILDER NLE. This will be the last demo at lacpug for Philip as he is moving back to Australia. Be sure to attend if only to say goodbye.

    Also Deaf editor/filmmaker Toj Mora will join us to show and tell about his process, and more importantly how he does it in a hearing world. There will be ASL interpreters in the theatre so if you know anyone in the deaf community, tell them to come on out and support Toj.

    Also honored to have editor, producer, and director Joshua Kulic, who is currently head of Post Production at MrBeast. MrBeast was the first "YouTuber" to successfully bridge into commercial streaming media with Beast Games where Joshua was the Exectuive Producer. This was a monster of a show, and Josh will show us how they did it.
