Event Summary:
Picturehouse 441 and ACE are proud to be partnering on a series of live virtual Q&As as part of our mutual efforts to promote media literacy. Join us for a Q&A with director/co-writer/producer George Miller as he discusses his 2015 post-apocalyptic action film Mad Max: Fury Road. At Picturehouse 441, we've never repeated ourselves, but we felt that if there ever was an occasion to do so, this would be the one, especially on the exact 10th anniversary of its release. With Mad Max: Fury Road, gonzo filmmaker George Miller returned to the series with which he made his name and created an instantly-iconic, action masterpiece. A visually maximalist, narratively minimalist post-apocalyptic adrenaline rush of pure cinema, the fourth entry in this legendary franchise is a fever dream of insane action sequences, expertly cut by editor Margaret Sixel, ACE, who won the Oscar for her work. A deeply pleasurable assault on the senses that was deservingly hailed as a landmark in action cinema, Mad Max: Fury Road is the result of a filmmaker and his team who adventured to the cliff of madness and lived to give audiences a glimpse of what was over the edge.
