Event Summary:

The next "American Cinema Editors Presents" screening in New York is Robert Altman’s 1993 comedy/drama Short Cuts. Inspired by nine short stories and a poem by renowned author Raymond Carver, with a screenplay by Altman and Frank Barhydt, Short Cuts interweaves the stories of twenty-two characters as they struggle to find solace and meaning in contemporary Los Angeles. The stunning ensemble cast features Jack Lemmon, Julianne Moore, Robert Downey, Jr., Jennifer Jason Leigh, Buck Henry, Lyle Lovett, Lori Singer, Frances McDormand, Lily Tomlin, Matthew Modine, Annie Ross and Tom Waits.
