ACE Best Practices Guide for Post-Production
Last summer the ACE Best Practices Committee conducted a survey to determine which workplace issues matter most to editors. The response to the survey was very positive and has resulted in the first “American Cinema Editors Best Practices Guide for Post-Production”. Posted here>>
The guide consists of recommendations for the ideal way to set up a post-production department, everything from the environment itself, to the key decisions that editors should be involved in. These issues can have a significant impact on the health and well being of editors and affects their ability to optimally perform their jobs. By defining these standards and publishing this guide, we hope to raise awareness around these issues and help editors become more comfortable asking for what they need. We believe that health happy editors produce better work.
We’d like to thank all of you who participated in the survey and who gave us your thoughts and insights.
In addition, we encourage members to provide additional feedback here on what you consider to be “best practices.”
Feel free to share these recommendations with your fellow editors, assistant editors and post producers.
